One of the largest four-wheeler manufacturing companies, Maruti Suzuki, has silently launched the Maruti Dzire Tour 2017 at a price of Rs 5.24 Lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi).for the petrol variant, and Rs 5.99 Lakhs (ex-showroom Delhi) for the diesel variant. This new variant replaces the first generation of the Dzire Tour which was launched as a taxi-focused variant of the Dzire.
Under the hood, there’s the same 1.3-litre DDiS diesel engine as seen on the outgoing model. The diesel engine generates a power of 74 bhp and torque of 190 Nm. Maruti has also introduced a petrol variant, which carries a 1.2-litre K-series petrol engine producing 84 bhp of power and 114 Nm of torque. Both the variants are mated to a 5-speed manual transmission.
The interiors are borrowed from the regular Swift Dzire that include a new dual-tone dashboard and beige upholstery with elements of wood trim on the dashboard and doors. Apart from these, the car also features a Multi Information Display (MID) panel and power window controls.
The exteriors have been down stripped somewhat. The redesigned front bumper comes with a black plastic grille. Other elements of exterior include swept back headlamps, black-colored ORVMs and steel-colored wheels.
The 2017 Maruti Dzire will get a tough competition from the rivals like Tata Tigor and Honda Amaze.
Towards the end of 2016, it was reported that the Dzire Tour will be discontinued and there will be no more launches with the ‘Tour’ tag, hence this silent launch is somewhat surprising. Note that a facelifted Maruti Suzuki Dzire, without the ‘Tour’ tag, is scheduled to be unveiled on Apr 24.
