Mudflats are formed at the areas where sea receded leaving a large number of fishes and other aquatic animals dead
Chenthrapini: In a mysterious phenomenon, the sea at Chamakkala beach in Thrissur, receded by 20 metres to a distance of 3 kilometres from Koorikuzhi to north.
The phenomenon was seen from Sunday evening.
Mudflats were formed in the place where the sea had receded leaving a large number of fishes and other aquatic animals dead.
Crowds were found visiting Chamakkala beach after hearing about the incident. Even though receding of sea is a normal occurrence during high tides and low tides, this type of happening is rare.
Earlier in 2004, a similar case was seen here just before tsunami.
