Kohima, October 12 (DIPR): With a view to facilitate better co-ordination and communication among various Government Departments, and deliver services efficiently in electronic form in the State, the Department Information Technology & Communication (IT&C) had set up all the basic core IT infrastructures.
The trend in the Country is also in the direction of gradually shifting the functioning Government offices to paperless environment. In general, the Government of Nagaland encourage all Government Departments and their employees to use e-mail, internet, departmental websites, and other means of electronics media while conducting business within the Government and with the general public.
Therefore, all Administrative Heads of Departments (AHoDs) and Heads of Department (HoDs) have been requested to create facebook and twitter account of their departments to disseminate information on developmental activities. All the departments have also been requested to keep their websites updated with the latest developmental activities. The Department may also nominate a Nodal Officer for managing social media presence.
The details of facebook and twitter account created may be communicated to firstname.lastname@example.org on or before October 17 for compilation. Framework & guidelines for use of social media for government organisations can be obtained from the Department of IT&C, Government of Nagaland.
