Bulldogs at Tigers OddsShark Matchup Report
The Bulldogs won but failed to cover as 23.5-point favorites against the South Carolina Gamecocks last Saturday, winning 24-10 for their seventh straight victory by at least two touchdowns since defeating Notre Dame 20-19 back in their second game of the season.
While the offense wasn’t at its best last week, the defense continued its dominating stretch, entering this game ranked fourth in the nation in total defense allowing 254 yards per game and third in scoring defense allowing 11.7 points per game. Georgia is a perfect 5-0 SU and ATS in its last five games on the road.
In the last 10 games between these two teams, Georgia holds an 8-2 SU and 7-3 ATS edge per the OddsShark College Football Database. The Bulldogs are 3-0 SU and ATS in their last three games against the Tigers.
At 7-2 SU and 3-3-3 ATS, the Tigers are the highest ranked team two-loss team in the nation. Both of Auburn’s losses are forgivable coming against No. 4 Clemson and No. 24 LSU, but the Tigers also have only one win over a ranked opponent over No. 16 Mississippi State.
Auburn’s record is about what it should be, and a win over Georgia would easily be the biggest surprise of the season for the Tigers thus far. The Tigers are 2-11 SU and 4-8-1 ATS in their last 13 games as a betting underdog.
Saturday’s total is set at 47 points. The UNDER is 9-0 in Auburn’s last nine games as an underdog.
With the exception of its early-season win over Notre Dame, Georgia is fairly untested this season as well. The Bulldogs look destined to meet Alabama in the SEC Championship Game for a play-in game into the College Football Playoff, but they’ll get a litmus test this Saturday before that big potential showdown down the road.
