AP police burns around 7,637 kg ganja worth around Rs 7 cr
Visakhapatnam Mar 13 (UNI) The Rural police officials have burnt around 7,637 kg dry ganja worth up to Rs 7 crore, at Kalyanapulova area today in the presence of Drug Disposal committee.
Superintendent of Police (Visakhapatnam Rural) Rahul Dev Sharma and other officials were also present.
As per the police officials, the ganja that was burnt had been seized in several cases from Narsipatnam sub-division and Kothakota circle police station, which include 17 cases in Kothakota, 30 cases in Rolugunta, 18 cases in Makavarapalem PS limits of the district.
Drug Disposal committee chairman and DIG Visakha Range Ch Srikanth said that the rural police department has burnt out the ganja stock after acquiring the court permission.
The rest of the stock would be also be burnt in a phased manner.
