The Times are reporting on Tuesday that the Special One is trying to change the date for Manchester United’s away match at Chelsea. The sides are currently pencilled in to meet at Stamford Bridge on Sunday, October 23. Mourinho is unhappy with that date, as United have a match in the Europa League less than 72 hours beforehand. Mourinho’s mind games While the sort window of recovery is clearly an issue for Mourinho, one also suspects the Man United boss is trying to win a mental battle over the Blues.
As reported in the broadsheet: Mourinho regards his first return to Stamford Bridge since being sacked by the club for the second time last year as the most important match of United’s season at this stage and wants time to fully prepare his players. Chelsea are well aware of the seriousness with which Mourinho treats the fixture list and will not rush to do him any favours.
