NRG woman from Navsari completes solo drive from UK to India in 57 days

Summary: She drove on an average of 700 km every day, and 400 km per day in mountainous areas. On certain days she had driven around 1,500 Km in one day and also drove for 20-22 hours in a day. "Through this solo drive, I wanted to connected with people in 32 countries to raise funds for setting up healthcare facility in my hometown in Navsari. She drove non-stop from Patna to Delhi (1,100 km) in one day. This expedition was without any back up team, crew or back up vehicle.

Surat: A 43-year-old NRG woman, Bharulata Kamble from Navsari has successfully completed the solo car journey of 32,000 kilometre across 32 countries in 57 days from United Kingdom to India to spread the message of "Save girls, educate girls".Kamble, a lawyer and former civil servant with the British government, began her solo car journey on September 13 from United Kingdom to India via the Arctic Circle. Upon reaching India on November 8 she has become the first woman driver in the world to complete a transcontinental and the Arctic Circle car journey alone.She is married to a surgeon (Urologist and Robotic Surgeon) of Maharashtrian origin and mother of two children aged 11 and 9 years.She completed her first record on September 28 and became the first woman in the world to undertake and complete solo car driving expedition to the Arctic Circle. This expedition was without any back up team, crew or back up vehicle.

She drove 2,792 km to the Arctic Circle and became the first woman in the world to drive longest distance in the Arctic circle.She also is the first woman to visit most countries in only 57 days (She reached India at Moreh Check post in Manipur state on November 8), covering distance of over 32,000 kilometres.Bharulata drove through nine mountain ranges, three major deserts and two continents. These include 5,500 km of mountain driving reaching the altitude of 3,700-4000 metres above sea level, and driving 2,500 km through desert areas.This journey will be recorded by the Guinness Book of World Records. She drove on an average of 700 km every day, and 400 km per day in mountainous areas.
