We Deliver the AutoGuide.com 2017 Car of the Year Award to Ford
AutoGuide.com has just presented its 2017 Car of the Year Award to Ford during the 2017 Detroit Auto Show.
The Ford Focus RS was crowned as the AutoGuide.com 2017 Car of the Year, and all that was left was to deliver the hardware to Jamal Hameedi, chief engineer for Ford Performance, pictured below.
Powered by a 2.3-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder engine, the Ford Focus RS delivers 350 horsepower and 350 pound-feet of torque to all four wheels. Best of all, the powerplant is mated to a six-speed manual transmission. The Ford Focus RS beat out the Hyundai Elantra, BMW M2, Volkswagen Golf Alltrack, Kia Optima and Chevrolet Cruze.
“It’s an honor to receive this top prize from AutoGuide.com,” said Hameedi. “The success of Focus RS throughout 2016 is testament to the entire Ford team who put all of their energy into creating such a special car to capture the heart of any driving enthusiast.”
