Tiruchy, table topper among central districts in pass percentage

Scoring an overall pass percentage of 96.98 in the SSLC board examination results, Tiruchy district maintained its top position among the central districts. It is the only district to find a place within the top ten districts in the state, based on the pass percentage, while Nagapattinam placed least position with 91.40 per cent.

Jubilant students at Holy Cross Higher Secondary School, Tiruchy Thiruchirapalli: According to the results, Tiruchy district had the maximum number of schools appeared for the board exam (434 schools) and the maximum number of centum result schools with 225 schools. While 394 students secured 491 marks and above and 1899 students bagged the marks between 476 and 490. 
Interestingly, Pudukkottai district had witnessed 96.16 of pass percentage which is 1.70 per cent more than the previous year results. Meanwhile, as many as 223 students have secured 100 marks in Mathematics while 385 students have scored 100 marks in Science and 2,392 students have secured 100 marks in Social Science.   
Meanwhile, Thanjavur district which has secured 95. 21 per cent, showed a slight decline in the pass percentage than the previous year. Out of a total number of 33,844 students from 399 schools who appeared for the examination ,as many as 33, 224 students cleared them.  Similarly, Tiruvarur district pass percentage stood at 91.97% this year and the district has also gone up by one place in the state, by securing 27th rank among the districts in pass percentage. Last year, the district was placed at 28th rank. 497 students got centum in Social Science and no one got centum in English or Tamil. As many as 158 students got centum in Mathematics and 177 in Science. 
Karur loses overall percentage A poor performance by losing 1.47 percentage points compared last year, with  overall pass percentile 96.67, Karur stands in fifteenth place in the districtwise performance, by scoring an overall pass percentage of 95.20 in SSLC board examinations this year. Over 12,383 candidates have cleared their SSLC board examination, out of the 13,007 who  appeared s. There are 190 schools in the district, in which 90 schools have produced centum results, with 31 of them are government schools.
