The police had arrested eight persons in connection with the case but not Arya. Congress had raised the issue and demanded CBI inquiry. However, the CBI did not find anything against Arya and gave him a clean chit. The family members of the deceased MLA filed a case in the court. The court on minister’s appeal put stay on his arrest till June 3. The Congress was quick to pounce on the issue, leader of opposition Ajay Singh claimed that that court was convinced about minister’s involvement and thus have issued an arrest warrant against him. He demanded the minister to resign on moral grounds.
“In democratic practices the politician should resigned themselves if they are charged by the court, they should respect the court orders and should maintain the democratic values”. He added. The leader of opposition Ajay Singh demanded to remove the minister from post on moral ground. However, the BJP state unit chief and MP Nandkumar Singh Chauhan rejected Congress demand for Arya’s resignation claiming that the minister has no involvement in the case. We have full faith in judicial system and Arya will come out clean, he said adding that they will move High Court.
