IFFM 2017: Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and daughter Aaradhya raise Indian flag at the event in Melbourne
Bollywood diva Aishwarya Rai Bachchan along with daughter Aaradhya are presently in the city of Melbourne to attend the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne (IFMM). The mother daughter duo hoisted the Indian National Flag to mark 70 years of Indian independence on Saturday. They also sang the national anthem of India, Jan Gana Mana. It was a moment of pride for the former Miss World as she became the first women to do so in IFFM.
The ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ actress simply looked stunning in a white and light blue anarkali. She managed to steal the limelight with her Indian outfit. Aaradhya too looked beautiful in a white ghagra choli.
The actress thanked Melbourne for providing her with such a great honour. According to her, celebrating the 70th Indian Independence Day will remain a beautiful memory for both her and her daughter. The best part about her speech was that she first spoke in Hindi and later translated the words into English for those who didn’t know the language.
Various Bollywood celebrities like Karan Johar, Sushant Singh Rajput, Shilpa Shetty Dangal director Nitesh Tiwari, Baahubali producer Shobu Yarlagadda graced the event.
On the work front, the ‘Devdas’ actress will soon start shooting for her upcoming movie ‘Fanney Khan’. The film also stars Anil Kapoor, with whom the actress will be sharing screen space after over a decade. Aishwarya will play a singer in the Rakyesh Omprakash Mehra movie.
