Amaravati: The meeting of former MP Lagadapati Rajagopal with Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu raised eyebrows of many, as it is the second time both the leaders met. Lagadapati came to Chief Minister Office (CMO) on Tuesday and held a meeting with Chandrababu Naidu for a long time.
Later, speaking to reporters, Lagadapati said the meeting had no political importance and it was a formal one. The former Vijayawada MP, who seems to have been maintaining close relations with Chief Minister for some time, predicted Telugu Desam Party’s victory in Nandyal without any ambiguity.
Lagadapati also met Chandrababu Naidu in April. Though, the former MP denied any impotence to the meeting, it gained importance in the backdrop of political defections from other parties to Telugu Desam. Lagadapati announced in 2014 that he would not contest in elections and not continue in active politics. However, sources privy to Rajagopal said that the former MP met Chief Minister to finalise a deal on power project.
