Chinese Muslim Man sentenced to two years in Jail for teaching Islam Online

 Huang Shike, a Chinese Muslim man was arrested in 2016 for forming a group in WeChat, the online messaging app aimed at teaching Islam and discussions related to it.

The 49 year old, taught about the Quran, Islam's holy book, in another WeChat discussion group.

More than 100 people were members of each group, according to the official website China Judgments Online.

According to the Chinese authorities, the discussion groups "disturbed normal religious activity" and violated laws about using the internet to discuss religion, the website said.

Recently, the person has been sentenced to two years in a Chinese prison after forming online discussions groups to teach about Islam.
