At its maiden event at the new Steve Jobs Theater, Apple announced that the newest version of its operating system- iOS 11 is launching on September 19 for iPhone and iPad as a free update. The event also saw the grand launch of Apple’s three new iPhones.
iOS 11 was first unveiled at the WWDC event in June 2017. The company has been making changes to the said software with early beta tests over the summer.

Besides the latest launches of yesterday, iOS 11 will be compatible with iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus, iPhone SE, iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus, iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus and iPhone 5s. Among iPads, the new operating system will work with the 7th generation iPad (2017), iPad Pro (12.9-inch, 10.5-inch and 9.7-inch), iPad Mini (2, 3 and 4) and iPad Air and iPad Air 2. iOS 11 will also work with the 6th generation iPod Touch.
