Gaspar Noé has a niche in making films that are disturbing to the core and not for the soft-hearted viewers. The movie is told in reverse-chronological order, along the lines of Memento about the horrific tale of one tragic night in Paris when Alex, played by Monica Belluci was brutally raped and beaten in a savage act. The movie is really disturbing and sexist to the core, especially towards gays, who are shown in really negative light in the film.

The Dictator

This movie had blatant scenes where one can clearly spot sexism, anti-feminism and misogyny but the character of Admiral General Aladeen, played by Sacha Baron Cohen being so cool about it. The movie is about the royal life of Aladeen, as he grows up surrounded by female bodyguards that he keeps “virgin”. The movie shows so many cases of sexism in the scene where he is on a bike with a girl who has short hair and makes fun of it, saying “You’re a girl?”. Such remarks are all over the script and still people find fun in it.

Last Tango in Paris

Starring Marlon Brando who plays the role of a middle-aged businessman Paul, the movie is about him mourning the loss of his wife when he meets a girl and they both have sex daily. The sexism is like everywhere in the movie, like the improvised scene in which Brando takes her from behind which was made infamous and the actor was even tried in the court of Italy for obscenity, and the movie got an X rating for the scene, but still it managed to bag Oscar nominations.

Gigli was a massive flop at the box-office despite Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez starring in it. JLo played a lesbian character who eventually falls in love with her co-worker and later the two have sex in the movie. It’s remarkably sexist here that even the lesbians are not sure about their sexual orientation and what they are waiting for is the right penis to set them straight.

Another of those films which sets specific standards for women to follow to get the man of their dreams and drive off into the sunset. In this movie, Danny and Sandy had a picture-perfect relationship before school, Sandy, played by Olivia sees that to get all of Danny’s attention, she has to completely change herself and every habit of hers to perfectly blend in with the lifestyle that he follows. This is absurd on so many levels and is one of those films that portrays women to be weak and desperate to their knees.
