Case filed against SCB doctors for death of boy due to negligence
Cuttack: Police have registered an FIR against three senior doctors of the SCB Medical College Hospital for alleged negligence in treatment causing death of a 14-year-old boy.
Basing on the complaint lodged by the deceased boy’s father, the Mangalabag police have booked two nephrologists and an urologist of the hospital and started investigations.
A case has been registered against nephrology professors Chittaranjan Kar and Sashibhusan Rout and urology professor Datteswar Hota,” informed Mangalabag police inspector Arun Kumar Swain.
One Keshab Parija of Puri district has lodged a written complaint alleging his 14-year-old son Aditya was admitted in hospital here three months ago suffering from kidney ailment. While the nephrology professors (medicines) suggested for kidney transplantation, the urology professor (surgery) gave nod for the surgery.
According to the advice of the three senior professors, the family of Aditya had arranged a suitable donor and submitted all relevant documents, including the requisite NOCs, in the department on February 28 with a request for an early surgery. The doctors however, neglected the case, as a result Aditya died on Sunday morning, police said quoting the written complaint.
