People nowadays are willing to leave no stone unturned to make their marriage stand out. Every other day we read about lavish weddings, couples spending enormous money on their d-day. It has become more of a style statement.   

Earlier, it was just women getting inspired by Bollywood shaadis and getting all dressed up in designer lehenga. But the groom I am about to tell you has taken it all to a new level. 

Yes, this Pakistani groom from Lahore wore shoes made of gold on his wedding day, and his pictures are now making rounds on the internet.     

Meet Hafiz Salman Shahid.  

A businessman from Valencia Town of Lahore. He has been identified by Mangobaaz, an online information, and entertainment company of Pakistan.  

He is wearing gold worth Rs 25 lakh.   


Guests in the Walima (reception party) were surprised to see the groom wearing an exquisite golden suit worth Rs 63,000. Embellished with crystals, he added Rs 16,000 more to his suit's cost. With a tie made of gold weighing ten tolas worth Rs 5 lakh, he added more glamour to his outfit by wearing 32 tolas gold plated shoes worth Rs 17 lakh in Pakistani currency.
