All You Need to Know About Toyota Yaris

Autoportal 2018-04-16 19:10:26

The charm of mid-sized sedan segment is not fading anytime sooner as their market share is intact and even on a rise in the recent couple of years. Honda City has been dominating the segment right from the beginning, followed closely by the Hyundai Verna at times. Maruti too sensed an enormous potential in this bracket and hence arrived with Ciaz to counter the two heavyweights. Now, it's the turn of Japanese autogiant Toyota to invade this segment with the introduction of all-new Yaris. Though, the segment is already botched up with a number of vehicles but it still has room for genuine and value-for-money products. As for the Yaris, it is sold globally in over 120 countries.

Engine & Transmission:

Toyota Yaris would only be offered in the petrol fuel trim. Although, diesel contributes to nearly half the sales of mid-sized sedan segment but Toyota has gone ahead with its decision with hope that buyers would prefer petrol cars over diesel in order to keep the environment healthy in future. The Yaris would come loaded with a 1.5L VVT-i engine which would belt out top power of 105bhp and peak torque of 140Nm. The engine would be offered with a choice of two transmissions - a 6-speed manual gearbox and a 7-speed sport sequential shiftmatic with paddle shifters. All the four variants can be availed with any of the aforementioned gearboxes. The prices are expected to be in a range of Rs. 9-13 Lakhs (Ex. Showroom).
