Voi Debuts Voi Reach at VA Healthcare 2018; Chief Science Officer to Speak at 30th Annual APS Convention
Voi Reach represents a major advance in care for at-risk individuals because it is the first system that can provide both continuous monitoring of risk while also offering immediate assistance for those in need.
SAN FRANCISCO (PRWEB) May 15, 2018
Voi, a healthcare technology company, will debut its newest product, Voi Reach — an AI-enhanced mobile application designed to engage, connect, support and monitor individuals with behavioral health issues — at this month’s VA Healthcare 2018 conference.
Voi Reach provides the unique capability to assist individuals and their natural support networks through machine learning, improving the care provided to the individual and dramatically increasing the effectiveness of the tool. Voi Reach draws upon the “Caring Contacts” approach, which advocates for promoting “feeling[s] of caring connection” that are essential protective factors in preventing suicide. With Voi Reach, individuals can build and reach out to their care team, which can include friends, family, community members, behavioral health coaches, clinicians, and other professionals who can provide readily accessible support and encouragement through Voi Reach.
Voi will demonstrate how its technology can solve many of the behavioral healthcare problems facing veterans and the general population. Voi is sponsoring VA Healthcare 2018 May 14-17 in Washington, D.C., and its Chief Science Officer, Bill Hudenko, Ph.D., will be moderating a discussion on “Developing a Plan to Support Our Veterans,” in addition to presenting Voi’s revolutionary approach to suicide prevention.
“We’re really excited to debut Voi Reach. It represents a major advance in care for at-risk individuals because it is the first system that can provide both continuous monitoring of risk while also offering immediate assistance for those in need. Voi Reach also leverages an individual’s natural support network — a key component to increasing safety and wellbeing,” said Bill Hudenko, Ph.D., Chief Science Officer at Voi. “With suicide rates increasing 24 percent over the past 15 years for the general population, and increasing a staggering 30 percent in veteran populations over the past 10 years, we can do better.”
Also in May, Dr. Hudenko will chair discussions on suicide risk at the 30th Annual Association for Psychological Science Convention May 24-27 in San Francisco and, at the end of these presentations, will discuss and consolidate ideas about the future of suicide prevention.
Voi Reach is the second product offering in Voi’s suite of suicide prevention solutions. It complements Voi Detect, the new standard of care for imminent suicide risk screening, designed to improve an organization's ability to identify at-risk individuals efficiently and cost effectively. High-risk scores from Voi Detect can activate an immediate response through Voi Reach to further evaluate and assist the individual in need. If necessary, Voi Reach can initiate an active rescue if the individual is in imminent danger of self-harm.
