Chennai: Bharatiya Janata Party national president Amit Shah will visit Chennai during the first week of July, to review the party's growth in Tamil Nadu and its prospects in the state for Lok Sabha elections.

"We are working towards creating a change, a complete and positive one, in Tamil Nadu politics. The party apparatus is being strengthened from grassroot level. These things will be explained to Amit Shah during his visit," said a senior state leader.

Lately, BJP veterans have been meeting influential persons in Tamil Nadu to seek their opinion on the four-year rule of prime minister Narendra Modi and how to attract voters in the state.

"The high command is aware of the negative propaganda being carried out against the party in Tamil Nadu. Strategies will be devised to effectively take on them ahead of the Parliament polls," the leader said.

According to BJP state unit president Tamilisai Soundararajan, "We are ready to face the polls even today. We are not worried about the negative campaign. We think positive and work positive. Welfare of Tamil Nadu is our only target and we are explaining to the people the good work of Modi government in the last four years."
