VM Sudheeran launches frontal attack on Oommen Chandy
Thiruvananthapuram: Violating the recent orders of the KPCC that party leaders should not make public statements, veteran Congress leader VM Sudheeran stepped up his attack on AICC General secretary and former chief minister Oommen Chandy on Wednesday.
Sudheeran accused Oommen Chandy of being coldly indifferent to him when he was the KPCC president and Chandy the chief minister.
"Right when the day when I became the KPCC chief, Oommen Chandy, a person whom I like a lot, did not cooperate with me. He showed displeasure even when I visited him at his residence. I was fit to become the KPCC president. I did not have any personal interest. Still, Oommen Chandy showed a cruel indifference toward me. He did not come to the programme when I assumed charge. He did not cooperate in many programmes later,” Sudheeran said.
He alleged that Oommen Chandy tried to sabotage the Janapaksha yatra.
Oommen Chandy inaugurated the Janaraksha Yatra held later. However, he had difficulty in mentioning even my name even though I was the captain of the march, Sudheeran said.
The attack on group managers resulted in the failure of the party in local body polls. I issued directions that candidates should be put forward by the activists of the ward. However, the group managers sabotaged it. As a result, the selected candidates became a rebel at many places. They are the reason for the big defeat, he said.
