Rumor had it that the newest smartwatch from Samsung would feature Google’s Wear OS on board, rather than Samsung’s own proprietary software, Tizen. And while there is officially a new smartwatch, it looks like Samsung’s sticking with its own go-to software.

Announced on Thursday, the newest smartwatch from Samsung is the Galaxy Watch. This drops the Gear S branding it has used for quite some time and brings it in line with the Galaxy S and Galaxy Note brand, which may help the smartwatch catch on with the public. Samsung unveiled two variants: 46mm and 42mm.

In the larger model, future Galaxy Watch owners will get a 1.3-inch circular Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 360×360. The case is available in Silver. The watch features interchangeable straps which measure in at 22mm and a 472mAh battery under the hood. It’s powered by a 1.15GHz dual-core processor, with 768MB of RAM and 4GB of built-in storage. That’s for the Bluetooth model in both the 46mm and 42mm size options.

Meanwhile, the 42mm variant has a 1.2-inch circular Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 360×360. The case will be available in either Midnight Black or Rose Gold. It has a 20mm interchange strap option and the battery measures in at 270mAh. Both smartwatches are IP68-rated for water and dust resistance, come packed with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, and boast a heart rate monitor built in.

The LTE variant has 1.5GB of RAM and 4GB of built-in storage. It will be supported by AT&T, Verizon, Sprint, and T-Mobile in the United States.

You can pre-order your Galaxy Watch of choice starting on Friday, August 10. When the 42mm and 46mm Bluetooth options go on sale on August 24, they will be available for $329.99 and $349.99, respectively, from Amazon, Best Buy, and Samsung’s website.

The LTE-connected Galaxy Watch will go on sale later this year from “AT&T, Samsung.com, T-Mobile, Sprint and Verizon, along with select major national retailers”. No word on pricing just yet, unfortunately.

So which Galaxy Watch are you going for?
