Why no garu? Mahesh Babu fans launch verbal assault on Sobhita Dhulipala for ‘thanking’ him; details inside
South superstar Mahesh Babu rang in his 43rd birthday yesterday. The actor has earned a massive fan base with his movies. Social media is not an infant to fan wars where a celebrityâs followers have slammed another from the industry for the most mundane reasons.
Recently, actress Sobhita Dhulipala who shot to fame with films like âRaman Raghav 2.0â and âKaalakaandiâ, was the latest target on Twitter. The actress made her Telugu film debut with the recent release âGoodachari; which was lauded by Mahesh on Twitter. Sobhita replied to the post with a âThank You,â which stirred up a massive uproar.
The actress had to face a barrage of negative comments for a mere, âThank youâ. Fans of Mahesh Babu were furious with her reply, as it was not followed by words like âsirâ, âgaruâ which is equivalent to âJiâ in Hindi, or âsuperstar.â
Thank you! https://t.co/QNtbGOoo7T

She was mocked as some users called her a âsmall artistâ, and saying that she wasnât fit to be even character artiste beside him and to show âbloody respectâ to theâ big star.â Sobhita didnât expect the simple âThank Youâ to get such extreme messages and told Pinkvilla, âI was confused that a âThank you!â was seen as disrespectful purely because I hadnât attached salutations like Sir/superstar/The great etc. Of course I have immense respect for him and find it rather saddening that social media is not a place of safety. Anonymity shouldnât be misused.â
Sobhita has earlier been a victim of online hatred for ârevealingâ outfits, nepotism or even random pictures or videos. But this time she faced flak for a rather unexpected outcome.
