Railway strike : Unions adamant to continue strike
The strike was launched on Wednesday afternoon against the delay of implementing some pledges with regard to the correction of railway workers' salary anomalies.
The Locomotive engine operators, railway guards, controllers and station masters have joined-in the ongoing strike.
Although eight office trains were operated this morning, the office workers and the candidates who are sitting the GCE Advanced Level examination faced grave inconveniences.
Meanwhile, Secretary of the Railway Guardsâ Union P. M. P. Peiris said that the eight trains which ran today will also be stopped from tomorrow.
