Three more test positive for Zika in Jaipur, total cases 32

Three more patients on Thursday tested positive for Zika virus in Jaipur, taking to 32 the total number of cases in last fortnight.
Zika virus has been active in Shashtri Nagar and adjoining areas of the state capital and three cases were confirmed by the medical department, an official spokesman said here.Of the 29 cases reported earlier, 25 patients are now better and recovered from the infection, he added.
National Institute of Malaria Research (NIMR) team camping in the affected area has collected so far more than 1,500 larvae and 200 mosquitoes for testing. NIMR teams have sensitised people about mosquitoes causing diseases in the area.Chief Secretary Mr D B Gupta held a review meeting with all officers of the departments concerned and issued new directives to maintain infection free atmosphere in the state capital too.
The Prime Minister's Office (PMO) on Monday sought a comprehensive report from the Health Ministry on the outbreak. After the alert the state government has been supplied with information, education and communication (IEC) material prepared to create awareness about Zika virus and its prevention strategies.
