Says Congress creating doubtful atmosphere
In the wake of much hue and cry being done by Congress over the EVM issue, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan came down heavily on Congress and accused it of creating doubtful atmosphere. He also told that Congress is attempting to make election a joke.
He was addressing mediapersons at CM’s residence on Wednesday. Chouhan added that it is since the time of voting day that Congress is crying hoarse over EVMs. Even at 3 pm on voting day, Congress leader Jyotiraditya Scindia shot missive to the Election Commission. After voting process, Congress is on expedition over EVM issue. Feared by impending defeat, Congress is levelling the allegations. Moreover, he said that if the EC officials acted in stricter manner then they acted with BJP people. But Congress is trying to put the Election Commission under scanner. Actually, Congress is not sure of victory, hence, it is preparing pitch for defeat.
He added that it is same EVMs which helped other parties in reaching to power in other states like Karnataka.
On convening the Cabinet notwithstanding the Model Code of Conduct, he said that no policy related matter could be discussed during the period of Model Code of Conduct but decision in connection with routine works could be taken.
In the name of code conduct, people could not be left at the mercy of God.
In Wednesday’s Cabinet meeting, decisions were taken in connection with issues related to Zika disease, onion etc.
On being asked that postal ballots were recovered from PHQs canteen premises, he told that it is the Election Commission which will look into the matter. If anyone did irregularity then action should be taken against him or her. Moreover, he claimed that BJP is going to form government with thumping majority in Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh.
