CHEd, PNP to launch safe campus projecthome/Campus Press/CHEd, PNP to launch safe campus projectTHE Commission on Higher Education (CHEd), in collaboration with the Philippine National Police (PNP), is set to launch a “Safe Campus” project in 2019, as part of the government’s effort to combat crimes and drugs inside and outside the campuses. CHEd Chairman Prospero de Vera 3rd said the agency and the PNP would conduct a series of consultations with various universities to discuss safe campus concept to address drug problem and threats to students and to the universities. “We will launch a safe campus project where PNP and the school authorities share crime statistics, for example, what are the types of crimes outside the campus, what are the protocols, [and] where to report,” de Vera said in an interview.
