PG Diploma in Business Analytics at IIM, IIT, ISI; Apply by Jan 3
PGDBA is a two-year full time Diploma program aimed at creating Business Analytics professionals who can fill the talent gap in this area for multinationals and reputed domestic companies.
Programme Structure: Students admitted to the Programme will visit the three institutions-Indian Statistical Institute Kolkata, Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur, and Indian Institute of Management Calcutta. Each of the three institutes will focus on a separate area of business analytics, in accordance with its expertise and competence. While coursework at IIM Calcutta will focus on the application of analytics in functional areas, ISI will bring to the table its expertise in statistical and machine learning theories for analytics, and faculty at IIT Kharagpur will engage with the technology aspects of analytics. In addition, the students will be required to do an internship of six months duration on an analytics project in a business organization. The programme is strictly residential for the components at IIT Kharagpur and IIM Calcutta. Residential requirement is not mandatory for ISI. Each institute will arrange board and lodging arrangements for the students subject to availability.
Students successfully graduating from the programme will be expected to join organizations working in the area of analytics. Those interested in higher studies may pursue doctoral or other advanced studies in areas related to analytics.
Eligibility: Applicant must hold a Graduate/Post graduate degree under any one of 10+2+4/10+2+5/10+2+3+2 scheme of study, with a minimum of 60% marks or CGPA 6.5 on a 10-point scale in the Qualifying Degree such as B. Tech/ B.E/ M.Sc/ M.Com or equivalent.
For SC/ ST and Person with Disabilities (PwD) category candidates, the qualifying marks for eligibility shall be 55% or CGPA 6.0 on a 10-point scale.
The CGPA will not be converted into percentage marks, even if the degree awarding Institute provides marks in CGPA system. Their admission will be based on the CGPA awarded in the transcript. If the CGPA is on a different scale other than 10, the eligibility of the candidates will be calculated corresponding to the equivalence stated above.
Those who are in the final year, are also eligible to apply provided they appear in the final examination and complete other academic requirements as specified above by May 31, 2019. Their admission will be provisional, subject to submission of final mark sheet by October 31, 2019.
Selection Test: Those meeting the eligibility criteria will have to appear for a written Test to be held on February 17, 2019. The Written Test will have 2 sections with Section A having questions from Verbal Ability and Logical Reasoning and Section B having questions from (i) Data Interpretation and (ii) Quantitative Aptitude. Detailed syllabus is given in the website.
Those shortlisted after the written test will be called for personal interviews to be held during March 30-31, 2019. Written Test and Personal Interviews will be held at Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Kolkata and Mumbai.
Merit list: Final selection will be based on the Written Test- 40 points; Personal interview (PI)-40; Points for Class X marks (as per details in website)-7; Points for Class XII marks- 7; Work experience- 6 (Total-100 points).

Reservation will be as per the Government of India stipulations for SC/ST/OBC-NCL and Person with Disabilities (PwD) candidates.
Application: Applications can be submitted online at the link given at http://www.pgdba.iitkgp.ac.in/How_To_Apply.html latest by January 03, 2019. Self-attested copies of all requested documents should be uploaded. Application fee is Rs.2000/- (Rs.1000/- for candidates belonging to SC/ST/PwD categories) and the same has to be paid as a part of the application process.
Fee for the Programme: The programme fee is Rs 20 lakhs. The fee needs to be paid in four equal instalments at the time of registration for each semester. Late payment of fees will incur penalties as per the policy of each Institute. The fees will cover tuition, on-campus lodging, books, study materials, examination materials, and laboratory charges, among others. Programme fee will not cover caution money, food related expenses, and any travel expenses that the students may incur in Semester 4 when they visit any industrial location. There is liberal provision for merit-cum-means scholarships for deserving candidates. PGDBA programme is recognized by Banks for the purpose of educational loan.
