Kannur Airport at a glance



  • Construction works began in 2014.
  • 3000 acres of land was levelled for the airport which was the largest land levelling process ever in India.
  • 20 small aircraft and 14 larger aircraft like Boeing B-77 can be parked.
  • Terminal has an area of 97,000 sq. km.
  • The facilities for domestic and international passengers have been arranged in the same terminal.
  • Three arrival baggage belts arranged.
  • Facilities for controlling the rush of domestic and international passengers.
  • There are 48 check-in counters and two self-baggage drop counters.
  • 6 aerobridges are available.
  • Runway has a width of 45 metres and length of 3050 metres. This will be extended to 4000 metres in future.
  • With this, Kannur international airport will be the largest airport in south India.
