JMC holds special drive, uprooted huge tin sheds in front of shops
Anti-encroachment Department of Jabalpur Municipal Corporation (JMC), on Thursday conducted special drive and uprooted huge tin sheds which got erected in front of shops on Ukhri road. Anti-encroachment squad removed the structures and cautioned shopkeepers to shun such practice in future.
Senior officials of the department informed that people have placed shops along entire stretch of the road from Baldevbagh-Ukhri crossing. Maximum shopkeepers got erected huge tin sheds in front of their establishments. They used to deck commodities under these sheds.
Officials said the illegal structures were hinder traffic movement on the busy road and were causing inconvenience to citizens. Hence, to act against the illegal act, the anti-encroachment squad conducted drive and removed sheds. Officials said they have also cautioned of shopkeepers of sever action and huge penalty if they erect the structures again. Likewise, the anti-encroachment squad also towed some old vehicles which got parked along the main road since long time.
