CGHS centre to be opened soon in Varanasi
New Delhi: Union ministry of health and family welfare has said that the Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s office in his parliamentary constituency Varanasi had proposed for Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS) Wellness Centre in Varanasi, which would be opened ahead of general elections and the requisite formalities will be completed shortly.
First CGHS dispensary will be set up in Varanasi at Kendranchal Colony, Bada Lalpur, near Chandmari.
The statement came in light of concerns over an order in this regard, which has already been issued by the ministry.
Once this is established, a number of central government employees and pensioners, who are staying in Varanasi will be benefited.
At present, the CGHS facility is available in Allahabad, Lucknow, Meerut, Kanpur, Ghaziabad and Noida in the state.
CGHS authorities has assured to explore the possibility of setting up first CGHS dispensary at Kendranchal Colony, Bada Lalpur, near Chandmari in Varanasi.
Along with Varanasi, new CGHS centres will also be opened at Visakhapatnam, Baghpat, Jalandhar, Srinagar and Kochi.
The Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has also decided to include 33 postal dispensaries including Varanasi under the Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS) from April 1, 2019.
A notification in this regard has been issued by the CGHS on January 25, 2019.
Additional Director, CGHS, IInd Floor, Sangam Place, Civil Lines, Allahabad under which administrative control CGHS Wellness Centre in Varansi shall function.
