Not Kangana Ranaut, but This Actress Was the First Choice for Tanu Weds Manu?
Tanu Weds Manu was a turning point in Kangana Ranaut's career. She finally established that she can carry a movie on her shoulders with her amazing acting skills. But turns out, the actress was not the first choice for the Aanand L Rai directorial. It is tough to imagine anyone else playing the role of Tanu in the movie, now. SpotBoyE reports that the role was first offered to Neetu Chandra. The actress told the news portal that one fine day, before the movie went on floors, the lead actor R Madhavan came up to her and said that they have done one film together already. Madhavan hinted that it would be better if they don't pair up in Tanu Weds Manu, so quickly after one outing. Though, Neetu was not the one who pulled out of the film. "I never went to Aanand L Rai and opted out. But, suddenly I learnt one day that somebody else was shooting in that role," she said. This won't be the first time an actress has expressed her grievance about being ousted from a project unceremoniously. Recently, Taapsee Pannu had lashed out at the makers of the upcoming comedy, Pati, Patni, Aur Woh, for going back on their word. The actress learnt from the news that someone else has been cast in the role that she up for.
On the work front, Neetu is back in town to promote a new song that she features in. The song titled, Ishqa, is peppy number and has been sung by Payal Dev.
