iCloud Folder Sharing For macOS Catalina Will Only Arrive In 2020
Unfortunately, if you were hoping to take the feature for a spin, it seems that Apple has delayed the release of the feature to 2020. According to the Features page for macOS Catalina, Apple has a small note next to iCloud folder sharing in which they mention that the feature will only be arriving in spring, which means 2020 at the earliest.
We’re not sure what could have been the cause of the delay, but it is rather unfortunate for what seems like a rather basic and obvious feature that cloud storage services would typically come with. Oddly enough, for iOS 13, Apple notes that the feature will still be coming this fall. It is possible that Apple forgot to update the iOS 13 page since it would be a bit strange that it would work for mobile but not computers.
Either way, macOS users will now have to wait until next year if they want to check out folder sharing on iCloud. In the meantime, there are a couple of worthy alternatives like Dropbox and Google Drive if you absolutely need to use this feature.
