Etienne Salomé, the designer behind the seriously beautiful Bugatti La Voiture Noire that made headlines as the world's most expensive new car at this year's Geneva Motor Show, is now taking his talents to the boating world.

Under his eponymous new brand Salomé Yachts, the automotive artist has rendered the Atlantic sport tender concept. Salomé took inspiration from the Bugatti 1936 Type 57 SC Atlantic and its "all-of-a-piece" shape in designing the stunning yellow watercraft, just as he did with La Voiture Noire.

While still in the concept stage, the Atlantic employs some seriously revolutionary technology, namely a Formula One-inspired "flow-through hull" that allows air to pass through seamlessly, thereby increasing stability and reducing drag. Designboom reports that a pair of 440-horsepower Volvo engines can push the 39-footer up to a brisk 60 knots, or just under 70 mph.

The Atlantic can accommodate up to 9 passengers and also features a "Garmin glass cockpit" with self-docking technology. Designboom didn't elaborate on what "Garmin glass" is exactly, but it could be similar to the Volvo Penta Glass Cockpit System, a multi-display interface that's fully integrated with Garmin GPS.

That's about all we know currently. More details will surely emerge when 12 examples of the Salomé Yachts Atlantic at the 2020 Monaco Yacht Show. In the meantime, feel free to check out the equally eye-popping Enata Foiler flying yacht.
