Normal People's rules for shooting sex scenes
The intimacy co-ordinator behind Normal People says there were rules in place to help the actors feel safe while shooting the show's sex scenes. Ita O'Brien says the actors had full autonomy to halt any intimate scenes that made them uncomfortable, reports The Independent. "The actor will have a safe word to halt the action and share it with the crew," the intimacy co-ordinator explained on Brendan O'Connor's RTĂ Radio 1 programme. If the actor wants to stop at any point, they simply call out the safe word, she said. The stars of Normal People have also spoken out against criticism of the show's sex scenes.
