Team India's Most Important Training Camp Ahead Of IPL 2020 Under Doubts
With the rapid increase in COVID-19 cases in India, the training camp of contracted players which was set to be held in Motera stadium, Ahemdabad ahead of the (IPL) is under doubts. Some top Indian cricketers have shown their concern over health and safety which might lead to the cancellation of the practice sessions.
The training camp was being organised for the preparation of Australia tour where India will play four-match Test series and three-match ODI series. But it is understood that the Team India players will be joining their respective IPL teams training camp in Dubai from the start.
GCA has not got any official statement from BCCI:
Meanwhile, a Gujrat Cricket Association (GCA) official informed that they have not got any official statement from BCCI for hosting the training camp in the Motera Stadium.
The players would have the risk of getting infected with the virus if they travel from different cities. So, the IPL franchises are against the move which can put a hold on the camp for the time being.
IPL set to take place in the UAE:
All the contracted players, except and Hanuma Vihari, play for the IPL franchise so they would have enough practice sessions to prepare for the Australia series. It would be interesting to see how would deal with Pujara and Vihari. Will they be given separate practice sessions or they continue their nets in their respective cities.
As per reports, the IPL franchises are planning to reach UAE by mid-August as the league will start from 19 September.
